BOSTON, Mass. -- Police initiated an intensive search on Castle Island and the surrounding ocean for a missing four-year-old boy Sunday night.

Shortly after 7 p.m., the relative lost sight of Mohemed. They couldn’t find the little boy and called 911 around 7:30 p.m.

MSP patrols responded and conducted a sweep of the area. Multiple agencies and units then responded to assist in the search by land, air, and water, including the MSP Marine Unit, Dive Team, and Air Wing; Boston Police; Boston Fire; Massachusetts Environmental Police; Boston EMS; and the US Coast Guard. Additionally, Troopers from the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County responded to continue the missing child investigation.

Mohemed Fofena is Black and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and blue footwear. Anyone who sees Mohemed or who has information about him should call 911 immediately.

Police assets remained on the scene overnight after suspending the active search around 1 a.m. Monday. The search will resume later Monday morning.
