GUILTY MA - Pediatric doctor charged with receiving child porn

Richard Keller, 56, of Andover, also is a pediatrics clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School and was the medical director at boarding school Philips Academy for 19 years, according to the US. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts.

Receipts and purchase summaries that were found during the investigation showed that the doctor allegedly made 19 online transactions totaling $2,695, prosecutors allege. Some of the pornographic material was sent to Phillips Academy's student medical center, according to the complaint.

Authorities searched Keller's residence Thursday and seized approximately 500 high-gloss printouts of child pornography and between 60 to 100 DVDs containing films of minors engaged in explicit sexual conduct, according to the complaint.

Oh yes-another stellar story that has connections to Children's Hospital. Let's see, that makes William Ayres, Donald Rife, Mel Levine and now Keller.

Children's says it is cooperating with THIS investigation. It is time to cooperate with all of these investigations. We are spanning over 50 years now...imagine if Keller stepped down because of some kind of student complaint, which is pure speculation on my part. This guy had access to thousands of children in his practice and at Phillips Exeter. Can we add up all of the patients between the Children's physicians mentioned above? Penn State has nothing on the potential impact here.

Just to follow up on my comment-Keller's contract with Phillips Exeter was not being renewed for a variety of reasons, including inappropriate voicemails to colleagues, inappropriate pictures/cartoons shown to students, viewing adult porn on school computers within view of others....charming

To clarify, I think Keller was the medical director at Phillips Academy Andover in Massachusetts, NOT Phillips Academy Exeter, which is located in Exeter, New Hampshire.

BOSTON – A former Boston Children’s Hospital pediatric endocrinologist was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Boston for purchasing child pornography.

Richard Keller, M.D., 57, of Andover, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV to 78 months in prison and five years of supervised release. Upon release, Keller must register as a level 3 sex offender. In November 2013, Keller pleaded guilty to two counts of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography. At the time of his arrest in 2012, Dr. Keller was a pediatric endocrinologist at Boston Children=s Hospital and a pediatrics instructor at Harvard Medical School. Before stepping down in 2011, Keller was the Medical Director at Phillips Academy for 19 years.
