Does anyone know if the Read trial will be livestreamed on YouTube? I know CBS in Boston is livestreaming the trial.
Thank you,
Tricia

Looks like TB will plead the 5th. I suspect the future won't be fun and great for him, regardless of how this case pans out.

Two people are refusing to testify are KR and AK, thus far.

Yes, Law and Crime, CourtTV and several other local Boston stations are live streaming the trial next week (beginning Tuesday, April 22, 2025) on YT.

Is it OK to make some very subjective comments about this trial? Maybe even controversial? They are just my personal opinions.

At this point, I don't believe this, but even if she did run JOK over, I really don't care at this point. There is zero evidence she did it on purpose and actually quite a bit of evidence that if she did, she didn't realize it at the time. So to me what it comes down to is that she might have hit him with her car while drinking and driving. Horrible. Yes. But also, I feel like even if she did recklessly hit him, she's suffered enough. She's lost everything. Her job. Her money. Her good name. Her boyfriend.

The reason why I don't care? Because there are people in this world who do a LOT worse and don't have this kind of theatrics in court playing out. And while not trying to victim blame, if this happened the way they are saying, JOK definitely had some blame in the situation. No one forced him to get into a car with someone who he KNEW had been drinking heavily. As a matter of fact, EVERYONE was drinking heavily that evening, even his fellow law enforcement officers, many of whom also drank and drove that night.

So to me, this was a game of russian roulette they were ALL playing and unfortunately, someone died as a result. Now, if they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that KR accidentally hit him and killed him, I cannot see how, as a first offender, she'd ever see any jail time. I see child killers get off with a slap on the wrist at times. But for whatever reason, they have chosen to throw the full weight of the law after this woman. LEOs lying, deleting phones, name calling, submitting reversed video, not to mention all the dodginess of that entire crew that evening and don't even get me started on that judge!

At this point, give her time served and let her be on her way and go find some real bad guys and lock them up.

Looking at the autopsy photos of his arm, there is no way that those marks are from a broken tail light. They could have easily picked up the pieces of broken tail light to see if they remotely even line up to the wounds on his arm. These are German Shepherd claw marks. I'm thinking a fist fight broke out in the house, the dog alerted and got involved trying to protect. JK probably fell and hit his head and then the lawmen at the party came up with the scheme of how to blame it on KR. What if John who we know was majorly drunk, started making passes at one of the wives at the party? Maybe it caused a fight that turned fatal?. Jennifer McCabe sure seemed to call him a lot. Jealous husband? Also, all the butt dials from3 people at the party and at the same time? Also the gash on the back of John's head- where is the rock with blood that cause it? This should have been collected to see if it matched the wound. The story leaves one with many doubts.

Also think they are claw marks. Did they ever check his arm wounds for plastic fragments from the light?

The fact that cops didn’t have a problem with everyone drinking and driving says so much. They’re obviously used to it.

Brennan is upset that if ARCCA has new info, the state won’t be able to change their theory of the case.

If the state is sure enough of their case to charge a woman with homicide, why would they need to change their theory of the case?

Re: ARCCA witnesses

According to Special Prosecutor Hank Brennan we do not have all the billing, all the communications, all the text messages, all the emails between the parties and if the defense’s position is not in their control custody well its certainly in the custody control of ARCCA we do not have all prior reports all prior testing all failed testing photographs pictures we dont even know who was what part of this report

This is an extraordinary problem for the CW.

Jackson: What they have, we have.

Calling bs on Jackson weak response. He's got nothing - is he hiding powerful evidence which would not be favorable toward defendant???

Media not bias... moo

Karen Read is the ONLY person on trial for the murder of John O'Keefe.

Next week retrial for the murder of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe.

JOK taken too soon and so ruthlessly- left to die in a blizzard.

Justice for Officer John O'Keefe - remember him

Yet the CW is and has been holding back evidence and STILL HASN'T turned over all their stuff. Ehem.....the curiously missing metadata! Watching Hank throw his little hissy fit this morning was priceless. He has A LOT of nerve to be accusing the other side of not turning over evidence. The CW has repeatedly " just happened to find evidence " and also has claimed that they have turned over everything. Can't have it both ways Hank.

Can agree w/Attorney Brennan's frustration, 100%, the CW met their discovery deadlines.

Defense did not. Jackson failing and still playing games... fast and loose when it comes to ARCCA. Unbelievable. He is scare of HB.

What was witnessed in today's final Motions hearing before trial leaves me with no confidence that the Court will fairly address the Sally Port inverted videos in the Juror Instructions! As I opined in the last thread, it was a huge mistake not to allow the defense a hearing on their MTD.

Today, the Court completely ignored the question regarding the metadata in the defense Motion, and instead allowed Brennan to pontificate on why the defense could not and won't receive the image of the file. Duh-- the defense did not request and has no interest in other case files here -- they want the raw file info that the CW failed to provide them years ago, period!

Why is this Prosecutor allowed the gaslight the Courtroom?

And btw, Brennan, ARCCA is not on trial here! It's the CW's burden to prove their case per the theory they came up with. Just because the evidence does not support the CW's theory, this does not give you the right to attack and burden the defense expert witness. Give it up already, tell the Jurors that ARCCA was initially the FBI's expert witness. MOO

PLEADS THE FIFTH! Defendant Aiden Kearney (a.k.a. “Turtleboy”) invokes his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination to any questions in defendant Karen Read’s homicide case!He is the ONLY witness to do so.

Karen Read’s dad outside court.

Mr Read says, "This is all about Justice. Truth. Fairness."
I really like Karen's family. They sit in the courtroom every day yet they don't make a scene of anything or show their emotions in any way. They don't roll their eyes or disparage anyone. They just show up and support their daughter and sister.

<modsnip>I've been watching trials since the early 90's with the Jens Soering trial in Lynchburg, Va. The one that started it all in my opinion in terms of live televised trials. Look it up, it was quite salacious.

<modsnip> Even IF KR is found guilty, this will be appealed and more than likely overturned.

Assuming the house was the scene a fight the fact that it was not searched answers the question as to why there was no evidence of anything. Also, I don't have any reason to suspect JO was making passes at other women, but that is just my belief. JMOO
I think there was a lot of mistrust of each other by both Karen and John. I say this because Karen was jealous of him flirting with other women and called him a pervert and likely for a reason. While John made comments that illustrated his jealousy of her too. When they were texting each other during the day on Feb 28, he made an innuendo about her plumber. It was not a trusting relationship IMO with possibly both of them trying to make the other jealous. A relationship built on sand.
