Where did I say I did not like KR? Please do not make assumptions about my post.

Nobody is making assumptions. Your own words.

Your missing my point. Should have been taken and examined as part of the investigation into JO's death. That's the main point. Vehicles passing, time stamps. The rest is distraction. As another poster points out, we will never know as this is one more failure of the initial investigation. There are no excuses for investigators allowing their bias towards the homeowner being an ex cop to interfere with their job. Just like BA being a Boston cop across the road at no. 34. Period. Agree to disagree. Moo

This missing Ring Cam footage should be a bigger deal. Not because it would show that KR did not in fact hit JOK, but because it would show what happened in the hours after the alleged incident.

-Things like who left 34 Fairview and when?

- Did JOK ever enter the house?

- Where were all of the cars/trucks/Jeep parked?

- When did Lucky Loughran come plow the street?

- What other vehicles drove by the property? ( there was a unfounded rumor that KR drove by the house before others were alerted)

- Was a Ford Edge parked outside 34 Fairview in the early morning hours that Lucky Loughran saw directly in front of the spot where JOK's body was found?
- Did someone or someones plant JOK's body on the lawn near the street.
- What exactly happened when the 3 ladies arrived on scene and who did what?
- How many EMS vehicles arrived and how loud were they?
- HOW WAS THE CRIME SCENE HANDLED?
- WHO WENT THRU THE SCENE AND WHEN?
- HOW DID SERT SEARCH THE SCENE?
- WHO WERE THE UNKNOWN OFFICERS THAT WERE ALREADY AT THE SCENE WHEN SERT RETURNED LATER IN THE DAY?
- DID ANYONE PLANT EVIDENCE?

- And on and on and on.

So many questions could have been answered IF that camera was working properly! But like so many other things that happened that night, it didn't work properly. Or did it? Maybe it did catch ALL of it but it was either erased, destroyed, or recorded over. We just have to believe that yet another coincidence or miracle happened and equipment that worked 365 days a year just happened to not work in the hours surrounding the death of JOK.

Was it Proctor who claimed there was nothing to see? I'd like to know where this information about the camera came from originally to understand the testimony. Anyone have a source?

KR said, I hit him! I hit him! I hit him! First responders testified to her statements.
In this earlier video you posted, Lally says KR declared 4 times, "I hit him! I hit him! I hit him! I hit him!" Over time it's morphed from 4X to 3X in addition to What if I hit him? Could I have hit him? JMc never once made this statement in her earlier or GJ testimonies, according to her cross examination in T1.

No need for assumptions. Those are based on a person's personal way of thinking on anything really, minority or not. Some are surprising, some are very much not. One can research a subject or person and show how different their perception is of life for instance, than another. It usually tracks the same on other issues, so it is telling. IMO

Something similar happened with the Honey and Barry Sherman case. Neighbours across the street and slightly west of their house had a camera facing the front yard and it covered the street and the driveway across the street.

Now this guy is a cop and he doesn’t think he should turn it over just to show nothing of importance happened? Did he even show it to any of them as he was handing out red solo cups? It’s so suspicious.
Yes @MerlinFalcon …. so very true.

And IMO this just begs the obverse question…… so if the doorbell or ring camera from the residence across the street had captured anything casting aspersion or suspicion or evidence of KR having done something…… are we to believe that evidence also would have been summarily deleted? And it would not already be in evidence? SMH. MOO

I don't recall exactly how that was brought up in the trial. If I had to guess I'd say either him, Guarino or Bukhenik.

“(The homeowner across from the Alberts, who works for Canton Police, told Read’s private investigator that his camera did not pick up anything from 34 Fairview.)

Security footage from the library that Read drove by between 12:37 a.m. and 12:39 a.m. should’ve shown whether her taillight was smashed, but that precise two-minute time frame of the video was missing when the commonwealth turned it over to Read’s team. (The commonwealth says they turned over the entirety of the video that the Canton PD gave them.)“

Thank you for posting this. What an excellent reading article. So it was a private investigator that discovered the neighbor found nothing picked up on his camera.

From the Vanity Fair article:

"Read has been criticized for smiling and waving to her supporters—a jarringly dissonant display. But she has no apologies: “I implore any critic to get out of a car in the middle of a waking nightmare, see 200 people wearing your favorite color—telling you to keep your head up, to keep your spine strong—and you don’t crack a smile. It has been a lot worse. I’ve been frog-marched into court with shackles on my feet, in clothes that I slept in in a jail cell the night before, in front of cameras, to all negative headlines. And the only people in court were my parents and my brother. I can’t not smile. I just feel God’s presence.”

Read saw a Daily Mail headline calling her “America’s Happiest Murder Defendant.” “If I look happy, did it cross your mind that I have a free conscience? Because I didn’t do it? If being innocent and enjoying the support and refusing to be down day after day, month after month, year after year makes me America’s happiest murder defendant, then I’m America’s happiest murder defendant.”"

Did the defense accuse the commonwealth of deleting library video footage during trial 1? Was the library camera activated by traffic at all times?

In any event, I believe the defence says the defendant was at JOKs by 12.36 (router connection), so this 2 mins of footage is neither deleted nor hiding anything.

What i find difficult in following this case is when one checks whether the oft claimed deleted library footage is real - it seems to be an unsubstantiated claim from the defendant, which doesn't fit with their own version.

From what I can find about ring doorbell cameras, their maximum distance is typically 30 feet, and can be less in poor weather conditions. The door of no.33 to the flagpole clearly exceeds that. Even the front door of 34 exceeds that distance.

MOO

For example -

"Your Doorbell is designed to detect people approaching your door or entering your property. However, you don’t want to be constantly informed about passers-by on the sidewalk or passing cars. The area in which the infrared sensors operate is therefore focused where relevant movement is expected.

These are the ranges of the different Ring Video Doorbells:

  • Generation 1: 1 m up to 10 m
  • Generation 2: 1.50 m up to 9 m
  • Generation 3 and 4: 1.5 m up to 5 m
Ring Doorbell 3 and 4 monitor the smallest area. For most homes, this is quite sufficient. Thus, irrelevant movements are recorded less often."
Ring Doorbell(s) Field of View | Distances & Angles

Yes there are two questions

1. Field of view - does there exist a camera with that view? (Not in evidence)

2. Activation - even if there is a camera with the field of view why would it activate on events on the other side of the road or even more distant?

In general you want your camera to activate on an event on your property - not every car driving past or the neighbours working in their yard

Short version, there is no reason to think the homeowner deleted any evidence. It's a speculative theory.

We’ll never know. That’s the whole problem. He could have forwarded the video to the cops and let them decide but then again, who trusts them? It’s just one corrupt mess.

Well sure but if no one came on his property at the time concerned, he likely had no video to forward in the first place. It's quite a leap to go from assuming he "must have had" video of the comings and goings to suggesting he then went on to delete that video merely based a claim attributed to the defendants PI - let alone that he did so corruptly.

All that said, I agree investigators could have canvassed better before footage was lost.

It seems that many people don’t realize how Ring camera footage works.

It’s not recording 24/7.

It’s only activated when activity occurs inside the boundaries that you set.

Now, I could pull up my camera right now and SEE across the street from me, but what I would be seeing is not being recorded.

SOME security cameras record continuously. Ring cameras typically do not, unless the homeowner has it set to do so.

It’s not at all unusual or suspicious that nothing was found on the neighbor’s Ring footage.

I would think it was a CCTV camera used at a public library that records continuously. Yes it was brought up by the defense. According to the Vanity Fair article posted above by @kuromiiiilove , the CW stated they handed over the video the same way it was received from LE.

Plus, here's a clip of Yannetti bringing it up in court.

I would think it was a motion-sensor camera, if there were gaps.

That hearing clip is pre-trial. Do you have a clip of the defense raising it at trial? I don't think they did. It wasn't touched on in the defense closing, which was a thorough argument of all the failings and accusations.

The lack of evidence from cameras across from and beside BA's home is being questioned due to frustration and disbelief that it doesn't appear LE canvassed the neighbors to discover evidence.
I find it hard to believe that not one of those neighbors was able to provide any video evidence and harder to believe that the Alberts had no video camera installed and even left their doors unlocked frequently according to BA and NA testimony. I guess they simply had no fear, given their status in their society over the years. "Nothing to see here folks."

There's a video posted on Youtube done by TB (can be searched using 'views from 31 and 33 Fairview' since I don't think I'm allowed to post here). He goes out and sees cameras at both 31 and 33 Fairview, so it looks like there were indeed cameras around that could have caught activity. But like others have said, it seems nothing of consequence was picked up by their cameras, otherwise it should have been presented at trial 1.

The question for me is, in 2025, where Big Brother is watching everything and everybody everywhere, where is all the relevant video evidence of timelines showing what actually occurred that night?!? KR has been accused of deleting parts of JOK's video which I might believe if the library video wasn't also deleted, and the sally port video wasn't also inverted, and if that neighborhood had been canvassed adequately.

So far no one here has been able to provide proof of this claim.

Care should be exercised not to turn this into a fact, IMO.

There is a town employee who received the vid from the library area, he was on the witness stand, back from CANTON PD, which he had to turn over, I believe he is in charge of the CCTV cam's for Canton. He had interesting statements on that video he received BACK. That was a perk right up moment. So much NEVER investigated professionally and without bias due to Proctor and the rest involved who knew better.
