It’s been nearly 22 years since human remains were discovered at the Raynham landfill on Oct. 20, 2000.

“Someone at the Raynham landfill came upon what appeared to be human remains in the form of bones, so the authorities were called, police responded, took custody of the bones,” Quinn said.

A forensic anthropologist determined the bones were from the right leg, femur and tibia from a male between the ages of 14 and 30 years old. They believe the person died between 1998 and 2000.

The University of Texas Center for Human Identification created STR and mitochondrial DNA profiles, but the victim still hasn’t been identified.

The bones are now undergoing further genealogical DNA testing by the FBI.
