Found Deceased Malaysia - Nora Quoirin, 15, from UK, special needs, missing on vacation, Seremban, 4 Aug 2019 #7

which is why my post talked about how all children with cognitive and neurological conditions are at risk of elopement. The link was about ASD children, but the point was still the same - elopement increases on vacation/holidays.
I have to say that at the time and on reflection now I still find the choice of holiday destination odd. Given the mention of elopement risk why would you choose a very remote jungle (I believe from memory)
Personally I would be too cautious and this as a family without these dynamics and additional challenges.

I imagine because they had done a LOT of traveling with Nora and had no problems, this location may not have seemed risky. In addition, Nora had trouble walking even ln flat ground, so it wouldn’t seem to enter her mind to walk outside alone. I too would be cautious as you are, but they seemed like an adventurous family.

This case has bewildered me too. I don’t like where my mind takes me sometimes.

According to the parents Norah wouldn't even go next door by herself. The family traveled a lot and the resort was high end.

It is the most baffling case to me by far. There are a lot of cases where the person goes missing but you at least know where they started off from.

It's baffling to me too. It's actually the case I joined for, so I could see the linked maps etc.

It doesn't seem to me like she would have hid from searchers, especially since they played recordings of her mothers voice.
IIRC they didn't play recordings of her mother's voice until several search days had gone by. Is it possible that Nóra had already passed by then, whether from natural or nefarious causes?

I assume they did almost right away. It's common to do that for lost children.

They had done a lot of travelling and Nora always stuck close to her family. I watched part of the inquiry on TV and the principal of Noras school said at the end of the days that she would watch out the window for the car to take her home and look at her teacher and wait for her teacher to nod before she left. Nora never went anywhere by herself.
