A 72-year-old man has been beaten after he refused to give permission for 40-year-old James Kane to get married. It's not stated if the two are related or not, but I imagine they are.
'Kane told Deputy Doreen Casolo he asked the 72-year-old man for permission to marry a girlfriend and the older man said no. That made him angry, Kane said, and he punched the man repeatedly.'
Although the 72-year-old said he didn't want to press charges as Kane is bipolar and hadn't been taking his meds, Marion County Sheriff's deputies arrested him. Kane's now facing federal charges of domestic battery on a person over 65.
