Michigan City man who was charged over the weekend with abandoning his 4-month-old son in a car called police to report the car, but not his baby, missing.

Porter County police were called about 11 p.m. Saturday by James O'Rourke, of High Point Drive in Jackson Township. He told police he saw a car parked in front of his home with the driver's door open and the dome light on. The only occupant of the car was a 4-month-old boy.

Kersey told police he misplaced the car. Police said they asked him if anything of value was inside the car, and he said there was not. Police told Kersey they found a baby, at which time he admitted leaving his son behind. Police said he stated he became lost in the area, was hit or punched by someone and then decided to chase three attackers into the woods.

VERY suspicious. I'm glad they took the kids away. I hope they check the little girl for signs of abuse.
