As a resource for LE, I would like to think there is a database of murder sites and body dump sites in the form of an interactive map. I do know there are maps of mass shootings, that we see in the press, but what about less sensational crimes? Perhaps one exists for each state, or smaller region, but I am not aware of any. Can anyone let me know of any that exist, that are available to the public?
From each true crime book I read, I try to find any relevant site, on Google Earth, and mark it. Does anyone else do this? I believe it is important for many reasons, one of which is to determine, statistically, where bodies are dumped. To what extent does a killer go to hide a body in the outdoors? To what extent would a killer go, to kill someone in the wilderness? I think it would be fantastically interesting to see such maps. For killers like bundy, I would think info could be gleaned from such a map to find others he is suspected of killing. For killers like robert hansen, I think the map could narrow down suspects considerably or a more detailed profile could be made of the suspect based on the locations of bodies being so far away from civilization.
