This is my first post here and I am seeking help.

In 1978 there was a murder in West Springfield MA of two 18 year old kids - Mark Harnish and Theresa Mercoux. Below are a couple links to supple some more insight into the murders.

The police did question this <modnote - Non-POI> this past summer as they looked into the case but couldn’t find anything as far as I know.

My question - can you websleuths find something on this man and if he guilty, get him put away.

Why can’t you contact police? If this is still an open unsolved case you should call them. You say you have information, this information may be incredibly important to police. Sometimes small tips can lead to closure in cold cases.

Welcome to Websleuths UH and thanks for posting about this horrible murder of two young people who deserved to live a long, full life but were shot to death instead. Such an awful death and sad to read about. I would luv to hear more if u have any more info to add.

Arrest made in decades-old West Springfield homicide case

Nearly 46 years after two people were found murdered in West Springfield, a suspect has been arrested

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni announced Wednesday morning a significant development in a decades-old unresolved homicide case from November 1978.

Gulluni announced that an arrest has been made in connection to the murders of Theresa Marcoux and Mark Harnish.

Timothy Joly, 71, was taken into custody in Clearwater, FL.

The DA’s office was contacted by an individual who claimed a now-deceased friend told them that Joley was involved in the killing of two people on Route 5 in West Springfield in 1978. The witness told police that after hearing about the murders on the news, their friend told them “That was Timmy (Joley)”. The witness told police that they and their friend had never spoken about this again.''
