''an alleged large-scale drug importer, arrested during a major operation of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) last year, disappeared without a trace last spring, raising fears of the worst.
Geoffrion, who lives in the east end of the city and runs a renovation and door and window installation company, has no criminal record. However, at the time of his disappearance, he had a pending case of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, in addition to a charge of breach as a result of Operation Fusion.
According to our sources, Geoffrion, who was known to always have a lot of money on him, started in tobacco trafficking before moving on to marijuana and cocaine trafficking. He reportedly took advantage of the mass arrest of the Hells Angels during Operation SharQc in April 2009, and their absence on the ground, to associate with traffickers formerly in business with bikers, but who have become independent.
According to a search warrant obtained by La Presse, sources told police that Geoffrion and an accomplice allegedly exported 100 to 200 pounds of marijuana a week to the United States, at a cost of $4,000 a pound, and some of the exported marijuana was traded for cocaine from a Mexican cartel. The document also indicates that Geoffrion owned marijuana plantations in the Laurentians and controlled two drug caches in Montreal and Laval, in addition to having contacts to transport the drug through the Port of Montreal.''
