Police killed the 17 year old early on Tuesday, sparking fury in the Parisian suburbs.
France is bracing for further protests after police shot dead a teenager, an incident which French President Emmanuel Macron said has “moved the entire nation”.
Clashes broke out between demonstrators and police overnight after an officer killed the 17-year-old in a Paris suburb, Nanterre.
The teenager, identified as Nahel M, allegedly failed to comply with a police order to stop his car on Tuesday.
He was driving a rental car when police pulled him over for breaking several road rules, prosecutors said.
A video circulating on social media, authenticated by the French news agency AFP, shows two police officers trying to stop the vehicle, with one pointing his weapon at the driver through the window and firing at close range when he apparently continues to drive.

France shooting: Who was Nahel M, shot by French police in Nanterre?
PARIS - French police have been at war with 'pest' since a 17-year-old boy in Nanterre, France, was shot dead by an officer at a traffic light. That's what two major police unions say. They lash out in a statement at the predominantly young rioters who have taken to the streets since the fatal shooting incident. Cars are set on fire, shops looted and officers attacked.
In France, 45,000 police officers will be deployed across the country on Friday night, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin told TF1 TV channel. On the night from Thursday to Friday alone, 917 people were arrested. The average age of those detainees was 17, Darmanin said. Police are going to deploy armored vehicles.
The French police unions state that it is 'a fight against the pests' and that all means must be used to restore the rule of law. 'Today police officers are at the front because we are at war,' their statement reads. 'Tomorrow we will be in resistance.'
In the center of the capital, looting was carried out in the well-known Forum Les Halles shopping center and rioters and looters targeted several shops in the well-known Rue de Rivoli. The riots have also been skipped to Belgium.
