Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are requesting assistance from the community as they search for a missing 21-year-old man from Brampton.

On Monday, August 14, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Mathavan Vinayagamoorthy was last seen in the area of McVean Drive and Castlemore Road in Brampton.

On Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 1:25 a.m., Mathavan was observed on video surveillance by a subway station in the area of Warden Avenue & St. Clair Ave in Toronto. It is unknown why he was in Toronto or how he got there.

Mathavan is described as a South Asian male, 5’5”, medium build and medium complexion. He was last seen wearing black pants, a grey hoodie, and black running shoes. He has limited access to money and left his cell phone at home.

Police and family are concerned for his well-being.
