I was shocked that I could not find anything about this case on Websleuths. There is very little available online and nothing from family or friends that I could find.

Circumstances of Disappearance: Matt was last seen in Wellfleet, MA by local friends on Monday 7/6/2020. He left Wellfleet headed north towards Boston on Route 6 - Route 3 stopping in Plymouth, MA at a Speedway gas station late that night. He then drove back south towards Cape Cod on Route 6 early Tuesday morning 7/7/2020. He was then seen driving his vehicle across the Sagamore bridge around 3:30am. His phone last pinged early Tuesday morning in Yarmouth, MA around 4:30am. His abandoned car was reported to police on 7/12/2020 parked along side Black Pond Rd. in Wellfleet, MA, reportedly being there for a few days. His phone then pinged again around 2:30pm in Wellfleet, MA area on 7/13/2020.

His car was found very near the Cape Cod National Seashore. From a NY Post article:

Beverly, Massachusetts, man Matthew Silveira’s July 2020 disappearance also reached the National Park Service, which was called in to assist the Wellfleet Police Department after local officers discovered his car abandoned just miles from the Cape Cod National Seashore, according to reports from the NPS and Boston.com.

Camping gear and his cellphone were found inside, according to the NPS report, which also described the 32-year-old as having a history of making “suicidal statements.”

Silveira’s car was found over 120 miles from his hometown, but he was never located.

I can’t seem to find much online and there wasn’t much talk around town. I live close by and I’ve always wondered if he’s still out there. Where his car was found is a dirt road, if he was in a sedan his car might now have made it very far down the road. I remember them searching for days, they kept at it and nothing. I am wondering where his phone pinged after his car was found.

I’m still learning, but is there any way to find out where they had searched?
