HOWARD COUNTY, MD (WBFF) Howard County Police have issued a silver alert to ask for the public's help with finding a missing elderly man from Columbia.

75-year-old Francis Lucas was last seen leaving his home in the 5200 block of Hayledge Court at 10:30 a.m. with plans to drive to Snowden Square shopping center in the 9000 block of Snowden River Parkway.

Lucas called a family member at 2:30 p.m. saying that he got lost on his way to the store and that he did not know where he was. His family called police.

A ping of Lucas phone showed that he may have been in the area of Falls Road and Old Lyme Road in Brooklandville, Baltimore County around 6:05 p.m; however, checks of the area have not been successful.

Lucas was driving a dark blue 2011 Ford Edge with Maryland tags 36115CF. He is described as a white man, five feet nine inches tall and 160 pounds.

A clothing description is not currently available. Police are concerned for Lucas well being due to age related health concerns. Anyone who sees Lucas or his vehicle should call 911.
