This unidentified man's remains were located nearly 62 years ago along the shoreline of the Susquehanna River, on the Harford County side. (The Susquehanna River divides Harford and Cecil Counties; it empties out into the uppermost part of the Chesapeake Bay.) The man's body was presumably found on the riverbank somewhere in Havre de Grace, though exact GPS coordinates are unknown.

Though his remains were in a recognizable state, no morgue photo exists of this decedent. His case file - or any other files pertaining to the case, i.e. a coroner's report - wasn't found to exist in either the Havre de Grace police records or with the Harford Co. Sheriff's Office / Maryland state police... This does not necessarily mean that the initial report was destroyed and is gone forever, but they obviously can't find it with any department or agency, for whatever reason. Tough case, when that happens.

Thanks BrownBear.

Wonder about this case from time to time and how it is decades old now... seems like the man was maybe homeless. He was an older man, petitely built, described as toothless and a possible alcohol abuser with exposure to coal dust. I'm thinking he could've originally come from the mines of West Virginia and not necessarily been a longtime local or a native resident of the area in which he was found. The case has gone unsolved for this long perhaps due to him being perceived as a mere transient or showing signs of a working class / poverty-stricken background.

No reports found in local or state PD, is there a chance the Coast Guard has a record? He was found at the headwaters to the Chesapeake Bay on a bank. Just a thought.

The article indicates the man was wearing a dark suit.
