Police Searching For Missing 13-Year-Old Girl From Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 13-year-old from Germantown.

Katherine Yasmin Cruz was last seen on September 6, 2022 at approximately 5:40 p.m., in the 20000 block of Appledowre Circle.

Cruz is approximately 4-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.

Police and family are concern for her welfare.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Katherine Yasmin Cruz is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301)279-8000 (24-hour line) or the Special Victims Investigations Division at (240)773-5000. Callers may remain anonymous.

Germantown is notorious for gangs. GTown also has a large Latino/Latina presence in that community. M00

I grew up in MoCo, and lived in Germantown in the late 90s. Germantown is sooooooo much different now than what it was 25-30 years ago.

Hoping that she hasn’t gotten herself into the wrong crowd.

Very worrisome. She is 13 years old and so pretty -- and so young.

I did read a timely article about Germanton & gangs. Apparently violence is getting worse. Dated May 13, 2022: "Gang feud in Montgomery County turns deadly, prosecutors say"
