Maryland man has been charged with rape, kidnapping, handgun offenses, armed robbery and multiple other crimes in connection with dates he allegedly went on with two men he met on dating apps, officials said.
During the initial investigation, police determined Rodney Richardson, 26, chatted with the victim, an adult male, on a popular dating app and they agreed to meet up.
During their date, Richardson allegedly raped the victim at gunpoint and then drove the victim to a bank and forced him to take out money, authorities said.
The Carjacking Interdiction Unit then charged Richardson in a separate case, an armed carjacking that occurred on Feb. 2, also in Brandywine, police said.
