Date of Last Contact: December 26, 2008
Vital Statistics
According to William's parents, José Porfirio Vásquez Rivas and María Estela Valladares, their son's girlfriend called them on January 6, 2009 and said that William had been missing since December 26, 2008. She told them that on the day of William's disappearance, they had gotten into an argument while driving and she asked William to get out of the vehicle. Earlier that same day, William had spoken with his mother over the phone and told her he was going ice skating with his girlfriend and his mother warned him to be careful became he had never been skating before. William's mother claims his girlfriend left the skating rink alone.
"From that moment we became concerned. We began to ask [questions]. The girlfriend only told us that they had gone out, the first version was that she had thrown him out of the car and three days later she called us again to tell me that she had kicked him out because they had had a fight, then she went back to look for him, but he was gone," recalled William's father.
William's family contacted the local police and Interpol, but they failed to generate any leads as to William's whereabouts. The circumstances surrounding William's disappearance are unclear.
