Circumstances
Adam is believed to have taken a water taxi (he was a licensed captain) out to sea. The boat was later located washed up on a beach in Kennebunk. His is presumed to be dead and his family did hold a memorial service but no body has ever been recovered.

(PORTLAND, Maine) —
Adam Patterson, 30, made an unscheduled trip to sea, leaving his personal cellphones behind, on a night when there were gale warnings.
The Maine Marine Patrol and U.S. Coast Guard searched on Thursday for a water taxi pilot missing since Wednesday morning, the Portland Press Herald reported. Security video shows that Adam Patterson left shore in the 24-foot boat he operates at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday. Patterson, 30, of Cape Elizabeth, last spoke with a family member at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and has not been heard from since.

Adam's Namus page is still up, though I can't really find anything else except articles from around the time he went missing.

Anything ever come from that sighting in Tijuana? To me, the resemblance is remarkable. However, I think it's unlikely because of the distance. Like if Adam had gone missing in Southern California, that would be one thing, but from Maine to Tijuana I just don't see it happening.
