BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - FOX ABC Bangor anchor Blake Lipton, 29, of Hermon has been reported missing.

We have confirmed this with the news station.

His mother says on social media that he did not show up for work Tuesday morning.

Blake Lipton, 29, of Hermon has not been seen since Monday, FOX Bangor reports.

Lipton reportedly failed to show up for work, but his vehicle was in the parking lot at the place of his employment, according to a Facebook post by Cathy Painter Lipton, Blake Lipton’s Mother.


Prayers needed please! Our son, Blake Lipton, is missing. We received a call this afternoon from his station manager advising he did not show up for work but that his car is in the parking lot. If anyone in Maine knows anything, please call the Peobscot County Sheriff’s office at 1-207-947-4585. Speak to Deputy Morris.

Channel 7, the channel that Blake Lipton works for, did their own story on his disappearance. Strangely, in their story, they make no reference to him being a staffer at the station. Read their version HERE.

According to his bio on the Channel 7 website, Lipton is originally from the Maryland / Washington D.C. area. He reportedly studied broadcast journalism at the University of South Carolina. This is his second time working for the Bangor, Maine TV station. He spent three years at WVII before moving to Tennessee.

How odd they didn't mention his employment. Distancing?

Why would the station need to distance themselves from him? I wonder if Blake was fired and went for a walkabout to get his head wrapped around what happened? Just odd that someone's employer would come off as not knowing who he was, and almost a tone of dismissal. Strange.
