Circumstances of Disappearance
Mike liked to hike in the woods. He went missing around 1978 on Duck Island in Maine. His family did extensive searching back then, but he was never found. He usually wore jeans, hiking boots or tennis shoes.

The NAMUS notes that Overman is missing from Hancock County, Maine. There is a Great Duck Island there, but Duck Island is in York County. Great Duck Island has extremely rugged topography, and it easy to imagine an accident there, especially coming ashore on the slippery rocks. I would guess that Overman disappeared at Great Duck Island instead of Duck Island.
