Southfield police say a missing 14-year-old girl may be in danger.

After vanishing Monday from Thompson Middle School, Alexis Melody Turner turned her cell phone off — and friends and family say they haven’t heard from her since.

Turner is described as 5 feet, 1 inch tall and around 185 lbs. She has shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. The teen was last seen wearing a white puffy coat with no hood, black pants, and black knee-length leather boots.

Investigators say it’s not the first time Alexis went missing. Last year police found her hiding out in Highland Park with a man whom her mother had briefly dated.

Alexis apparently told several friends that she was going to Las Vegas for two weeks for her grandmother’s funeral. According to her parents, that’s not true. Alexis has no known friends or family members in Las Vegas.

Alexis’ mother believes that she may be in the Highland Park area again.
