Amanda was 18 years old at the time of her death. At approximately 10 pm, Amanda left the home of her parents to show her friends photos of her recent spring break trip to Florida. She never returned home, the following day she was reported missing by her parents and her vehicle was found at her high school. On the morning of April 22, two young joggers found Amanda's body along a viaduct, near a railroad track, underneath US-127. She was clothed, wrapped in a white sheet. She had been stabbed at least six times. Mike Carroll was subsequently arrested and charged for her murder. Their relationship would come into question during his trial, some saying he was her boyfriend, others just an acquaintance. A friend of both Mike and Amanda testified that before her trip to Florida she came to him crying, saying that they had slept together and she was sick of Mikes head games, that she was gonna tell Mike she was late and possibly pregnant. From what I have gathered the only forensics found was fibers on a blanket in Mikes vehicles trunk that were linked to Amanda’s sweater that she wore that night. The jury found Mike not guilty. I’m guessing that was the end of the investigation into her murder as I have not seen any recent articles. I’ve read some rumors about a different ex-boyfriend being responsible, I’ve also read that everyone knows Mike was responsible.
