An endangered missing advisory was issued by Michigan State Police for Artis Green Jr., 1, after the child was to be removed from 34-year-old Tanisha Lane, the boy's mother. Lane, who also goes by Tanisha Harris, took the child and has been evading authorities. He may also be with his father Artis Green Sr., 55.

Artis Green Jr. is described as standing 2-feet-5 inches tall, weighing 30 pounds with black hair. The 14-month old boy is malnourished, emaciated, and unable to walk.

So he will likely look much younger and smaller than a typical 14 month old.

STILL MISSING: Spread the word, police are still looking for Artis Green Jr, Tanisha Lane and Artis Green Sr. Police believe 1-year-old Artis Jr. is in danger; he's malnourished and can’t walk. If you see his mom or dad, call 911 right away. bit.ly/2LLVUIo

That is nowhere NEAR malnourished. My 36 month old is 6 inches taller and doesn't weigh 30 pounds! That's HUGE. It's off the charts for weight at that age.

I was thinking maybe a typo and it was supposed to be 13 pounds? However, ALL of the articles say 30 pounds. I can't find any social media for Mom or Dad to see if there are pictures.

MSP searching for malnourished, endangered toddler

MSP issued the Endangered Missing Advisory for 15-Month-old Artis Green Jr. The toddler is a black boy, 29 inches long and weighs 30 pounds. According to MSP, they have information that the boy is so extremely malnourished.

It should be noted that malnourished does not always mean "extremely skinny "or emaciated. It can also apply to someone who is overweight but not eating or absorbing the nutrients needed to be healthy. It could be that his weight is so high that he cannot crawl or walk.

Malnourished children

I sure hope this little guy is found and gets the care he needs and deserves.

Yes, I'm well aware of that having had 3 kids with various nutritional or metabolic issues.

However, they say he IS emaciated. That is my point. They have GOT to be accurate if they expect people to take it seriously.

If they can't get the information on why he's endangered correct, people will believe he is NOT endangered.

This is also hugely important due to not having any pictures of him. There is an enormous difference between a child too overweight to walk and a child too skeletal to walk.

I just really wish they'd double check these details. Even now, 24+ hours later they remain the same. It hurts the credibility of the claimed urgency, that's all.

I'm sorry...I think I overlooked the word "emaciated" the first time I read that article. I only posted the link because we've had experience in my family with someone who was overweight but still malnourished.

It does seem these days that it's more important to get a story out then it is to hold the story until the facts are checked.

I hope they are placing some urgency on finding little Artis Jr.

i really don't understand these people who refuse to let the kids go to a good home when they can't seem to look after them properly themselves .... except for selfish egos

I have a cousin I wish would simply let her sisters adopt her 5 kids. They started getting removed after the third. They do so much better with her sisters and I wish they'd let them stay there and just visit a lot!

So I totally agree, IF that's the case here. Since they don't even have the weight correct I'd like to confirm the child is actually malnourished.

You would think if a doctor had determined that, they would have an accurate weight. You would think if someone else reported it there would be a picture. I'd just like more information before I assume these parents did as we are told.

In another case a nearly 3 year old girl died weighing 14 pounds. THAT is emaciated and malnourished.

I can find no further updates anywhere.
