A couple has been charged with murder in the death of an 8-year-old child, according to the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office.

Brian Morrow, 41, and Mia Morrow, 34, have been charged with first degree felony murder, possession of methamphetamine and possession of dimethyltryptamine.

The child's death was investigated by the St. Joseph County Department of Public Safety.

Brian and Mia were arraigned on Thursday.

The court set a bond of $700,000 cash or surety. If released, they will be on a GPS tether.

There is also a no-contact order between Brian and Mia and no contact with anyone under the age of 18.

They will be in court again on June 10.

Brian Morrow received the sentence this week after pleading no contest to 2nd degree murder.

The boy’s mother, Mia Morrow, was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison last month.
