HOLLY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police released a Western-inspired (music and all!) video of troopers and real-life cowboys capturing a cow that sprinted through traffic on I-75 in Oakland County.

Michigan State Police officials were called at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, May 21, to the northbound lanes of I-75 near Belford Road in Holly Township.

A team of wranglers were trying to rescue a cow that was stuck in a gravel pit on Belford Road, and police were called to the area just in case the cow escaped and ran toward the highway...

Wow, good job!

Glad the poor cow wasn't hurt. Looks like he was trying to outrun the blue vehicle on the I-75!

The dogs seemed to be having fun.

Good one :D I was actually surprised that the bovine could run so fast. It was scary to watch the cow run into the northbound lanes of I-75 when there was heavy traffic, and I'm glad that the cow and drivers didn't collide.

They certainly worked very well together to capture the cow safely. :)

So pleased everything ended as well as it did with no casualties.

I did have a giggle afterwards seeing the cowboy galloping along with the lasso. :)

Lester, a Michigan cow who went viral after getting rescued from Interstate 75 near Holly by an actual cowboy last Sunday, has been reunited with his owner and is recovering very well after the weekend's high-speed chase — the dramatic conclusion of the cow's two months on the lam, his owner Melissa Borden said.

Lester was born at the Devoted Barn, an Oakland County animal rescue and rehabilitation facility started by Borden. The farm was previously based in Rose Township, but Borden said she was evicted and had to move all the animals, 140 in total, from the property in March...
