This unidentified person was likely murdered and his body buried.

The "measured" weight of 77 lbs would be the weight of the skeletal remains rather than his weight when alive.

The North Face marked hooded sweat shirt would indicate a fairly recent case. At least it would tend be put a "no earlier" date on the murder. The make and model of the shoes would also help to narrow down the time frame.
