DETROIT - A 13-year-old Detroit boy has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for shooting a 14-year-old boy behind a vacant house on the city's east side.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said the boy is being charged as a juvenile. He also faces charges of careless discharge causing death and felony firearm...

so sad. BDE, you are always so good about sharing these local (to you) stories. My dad, who lives on the far west side of Detroit says gangs are killing each other's kids now, and having their kids go against each other. And then I read this a day later. Kids used to be off limits for gangs. So goes the devaluing of human life. =(

It saddens me to report about so many tragic deaths in Detroit - many involving children and/or teens. Yes, it's sad, but it's the new norm. Kids killing kids. Who knew that this is what the world would become? :cry:
