The remains found at the Greater Marion Chapel. The skull – which is missing its jaw – was discovered resting on top of the potted soil just outside the church’s front doors.

Guessing they have not heard of the Bruce McArthur case in Toronto, but maybe the person who put the head there did. imo. speculation. rbbm.
From link.
"I have never in my years here in Michigan heard of a skull found anywhere near a church, or especially in a flower pot," Blankenship said."

Whoa that's a really grim looking area on google maps. I wonder if someone found it and was afraid of going to cops and/or wanted to put it in some kind of more sacred place of rest?

The Toronto case is the first thing I thought of when I saw the headline.

How strange. It does look grim on Google Maps... They'll be able to tell how old it is/ if it's part of a doctor/teaching set right?

My first guess is a teaching specimen.

Yah, Ill never forget my friend let me look at a box of bones he had in his apartment. He was studying to become a doctor so they had to study the real bones and have them memorized. I was like ooooh... how spooky.

This case was updated in Namus earlier this year but I am unable to see what was updated as there is still scant information and no ruleouts.
