Detroit police search for 34-year-old woman who left hospital

The Detroit Police Department is searching for a missing 34-year-old who was last seen leaving a local hospital on Saturday.

(CBS DETROIT) - The Detroit Police Department is searching for a missing 34-year-old who was last seen leaving a local hospital on Saturday.

Gabriela Gibson was last seen at about 9:42 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in the 22100 block of Moross, leaving Ascension St. John's Hospital.

Family members told police that Gibson suffers from mental illness.

She was last seen wearing a gray hospital gown and tan hospital socks.

Police describe her as being 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department's 5th Precinct at 313-596-5501.

Such a worry, 3 days now and still missing. Sure someone would have noticed her around and about, more so with what she was wearing.

Hopefully she has taken shelter somewhere and is located as soon as can be.

Presumably she didn't arrive at the hospital already wearing the gown, so it seems weird that can't say whether she took her original clothes or not.

This hospital is right on the border of Detroit. Depending on whether she went north or south she would end up very quickly in wildly different environments. Either way, it seems like someone wandering in a hospital gown would be quickly noticed so my first thought is that she was picked up or went somewhere known to her. IMO

If this is her, Gabriela June Gibson, born in 1989 (photo looks like her in booking shots from the destruction of property case further down) she has had a speeding ticket since she went missing.

The getaway car was her mother's so I'm pretty sure her family is aware of the charges.

This may be the case referred to. There's a separate case in the records for the bond posted which was refunded when charges dropped after the immunity offer. (Note, I only checked the one court in Detroit Wayne County, there are a dozen more but they require checking of each individual one for which I didn't have time).
