Nice work, looks very strong! Did the confirmation you receive indicate if they too feel it's Bobby? Or was it just confirming receipt of the possibility? Either way...good job :yourock:

boo to waiting! hopefully they know soon so a family can get closure by christmas, or we can keep looking to give this man a name.

i randomly thought of this case this morning and when i logged on i saw its been a year to the day since i last commented on it. guessing bobby was a rule out? it doesn't say on the Namus page, but i doubt the technical stuff takes over a year. hopefully this man gets a name soon!

A new article on this case...

http://wlns.com/2015/04/17/do-you-know-this-man-jackson-co-sd-asks-for-help-in-cold-case/

(WLNS) – The original call came in on August 25, 1986. A body had been found in a field near Wamplers Lake Road and Deer Ridge Road in Jackson County’s Norvell Township. Since then the investigation has turned into a cold case.

...

I have to say, DippyBlonder's potential match in this thread in 2012 does look very good. The NAMUS page says this man had a deviated septum and from that picture of Bobby Stevens, it certainly looks like his nose has been fractured. I don't know if this would be worth submitting again?

Yeah, I think it's worth following up on. Bobby isn't in Namus so it's possible they're having that much trouble getting his identifiers.

Charles Cornell disappeared from Battle Creek, Michigan in April of 1986. He was added to NamUs this past summer and wasn't officially listed as a missing person until this year. I saw somewhere that he was mentioned as a possibility for this John Doe.

I mentioned this uid in relation to Chuck n an article about him on Facebook. I submitted him to namus, and they responded that they would compare these two once Chuck's DNA tests are completed.
