MSP reports 65-year-old John Michael Kueber’s last known location was at Miner’s Castle on Monday, Sept. 23. Police believe Kueber was kayaking in an orange inflatable kayak.

The MSP says Kueber is known to frequently kayak locations such as Au Train Island, Grand Island, Mosquito River Beach, and the general Pictured Rocks Shoreline.

According to information released Thursday from the MSP, troopers at the Negaunee Post are investigating the missing 65-year-old John Michael Kueber.

It is suspected that he was using an orange inflatable kayak near Miners Castle as he was known to paddle in that area, police said.

MUNISING, Mich. – A body that washed ashore from Lake Superior near Michigan’s Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore earlier this month has been identified as a missing kayaker, state police said.

State police identified the body as 65-year-old John Kueber, who was last seen on Sept. 22 and was believed to have been kayaking on Lake Superior.
