Police are asking for the community’s help in finding a missing teenager.

Kyra Lynee Jones-Kelley, 13, has been missing since she left her Bedford Township home at around 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 15.

Kyra is 5’5” tall, 150 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black pants and a black shirt with lime-green Nike writing on it.

Kyra’s parents have received a suspicious message from her Facebook account since that time, leading them to believe she may be in danger. It is possible she is staying in, or was taken to the Kalamazoo area.

Police are asking the community to share her photo, and contact police with any information you might have about Kyra or her location at 269-781-0911 or anonymously through Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.

Still Missing. There are several comments criticizing the PD for not posting about her sooner, and the PD posted this in response:

6/22 - To answer the concerns in the comments - There were a variety of factors that led to us not releasing the info to the entire community immediately; police have been working with Kyra's family.
On the Amber Alert, those are for known abductions, and have some other criteria. Kyra's case does not fit that right now. If it did, police would absolutely file one.
