DETROIT – Police are seeking information about an 11-year-old boy who went missing in Detroit.

Luke Payne left his house Thursday (March 16) at 4 p.m. without permission and failed to return to his home located in the 15900 block of Dolphin Street in Detroit.

He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, faded blue jeans, red and white shoes, and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

These two kids left home, w/out permission, around the same time?

I've got to see how far away they lived from each other...

These kids lived about 13 minutes away from each other by car.[ 6 miles]

Did they go to the same school? They are 2 years apart so they probably aren't together. It's just weird that they left home at the same time---within 45 minutes of each other

Nice catch. That's extremely coincidental, isn't it? The ages, time missing, the wording about both leaving home without permission, and their close proximity.

OK, I see by the Detroit PD FB that is just common terminology for them in these reports "left home without permission and failed to return home". But still interesting similarities.
