I wish we knew more about what they meant by closed case. Does this (hopefully) mean LE is no longer investigating and this has been turned over to the medical examiners office for possible identification?

I don't even want to begin to imagine closed case means there is zero interest in identifying who these partial remains belong to and bringing closure to a family who has long awaited answers to what happened to their missing loved one.

How could we find out if there was ever any testing done on this? Should someone email LE or the reporter that covered the story? It has been quite a while now, they should have some info...

Did they take HRD K-9's out there?
Seems to me that would have been easier and potentially more productive than GPR in a disturbed construction site.

Here's the Websleuths thread for Kathy Wilcox: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120180

If I were Kathy's family, I'd want this one checked out more thoroughly than what the local police seem to have done.

I manage a facebook page for Kathy Sue Wilcox " https://www.facebook.com/findkathywilcox " I did a google search on the jawbone found but I only come up with stories from when the news broke, nothing updated. Does anyone know if they were able to extract any DNA from the teeth? Kathy does has a DNA profile in the system. Thank you

It seems disturbing that there hasn't been any follow up in the media—at least there hasn't been any that I could locate. You'd think they'd at least try to date the bones.

Maybe a family burial from homestead days?
That's a possibility, but if that's the case, they should make make an announcement.
