Nadine was only 15 when she went Missing, what kind of ring was found

What class year was the inscribed on the ring ? I'm curious because sometimes people sell old class rings online they may find over time. It would be good to know the year so I could google and see if anything comes up. Also would the ring have had THS for Taylor High School on it?

If I can recall Right it had "THS" and I do believe "76", it was white Gold "Chrome" There were a lot of Pawn shops on Michigan AVE at that time, did do some Hunting on my own but found nothing,if it was Pawned. Might have even had a Rams head on it! Stone was Blue.

Wow, look at this. One of the ring manufacturers has a LONG list of rings that where found over the years and sent to the manufacturer in hope of finding the owner. http://www.jostens.com/rings/class_rings_cp_found_rings.html

I didn't see the ring Nadine was wearing but there are websites out there where someone could have found it over the years and is trying to find the owner. It's a long shot but if it where it could give a demographic area where the ring was found.

BTW, my brother and I found a class ring in 1973 when we where in elementary school at the beach. It was a class of 70 and we put it in my mom's jewelry box and forgot about it. Long after she died I decided to find the owner and did on Christmas Eve 2003. Point is if something bad happened to Nadine the ring could have been pawned or it could have ended up somewhere in the woods or something like that and found by someone with a metal detector years later and someone may be out there trying to find the owner. Like I said, a long shot. But I'll keep looking around on the internet.

So very sad what happened. A young lady just walking down the street of a town and she just vanishes like that. I didn't see it was mentioned so may I ask what the distance was from her home to her boy friend's house.

You do wonder what happened to the ring she would have been wearing. Would the killer have kept it as some kind of trophy (as some killers have been known to do) or sold or pawned it. Someone of that kind may have been reluctant to pawn an item from a victim since it could be traced back to him.

42 Years Today you walked into a space in time, For why God only knows, After talking to your sister and her husband I now understand the fear and pain and hate that was inside, God Bless You and Just want you to know That You will Never Be Forgotten!!!!! Your Friend

Do you know how soon anyone retraced Nadine's intended route (on foot)? Was it done the same day? It looks like the weather was fair at the time Nadine disappeared, but there may have been a very heavy thunderstorm later in the day that could have obliterated evidence of a struggle or of a hit and run.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It never goes away. Only someone who has experienced the disappearance of a loved one can truly understand it... such a loss comes back to mind time and time again as the years eke past. I have no words of comfort, mostly because none really can. But please know my heart is with you.

Another question, Frank. What do you mean about the fear, pain and hate that was inside? Meaning how her family felt after Nadine went missing? Or was Nadine afraid of something or someone before she went missing?

I first heard about this yrs ago, and I am from Inkster as well. It says that she was walking down John Daly to Michigan ave. Was she heading south towards Michigan???? It is a park now on John Daly but I'm pretty sure in 1974 it might've been all woods back then. I could be wrong. But have that area been searched when she first came up missing.

Nadine is not named but there is a search on going for 4-6 missing girls:
[h=1]Police search for 4 to 6 girls, long-missing, possibly buried in Mich. woods[/h]
MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police are digging in woods northeast of Detroit near where the body of a 13-year-old girl who went missing in 1986 was found more than a decade ago. The Macomb Daily newspaper reports that authorities are digging Tuesday morning in a wooded area of Macomb Township in the hopes of finding the remains of four to six young girls who they believe may be connected to an already-convicted murderer.

[h=1]Grieving family members were allowed to help dig for possible murder victims[/h]
(WXYZ) - Brenda Handloser and other family members were allowed to help dig for the remains of her sister Nadine O’Dell who disappeared in 1974.

They posted pictures of their work on Facebook on Saturday, this after the field near 23 Mile Road and North Avenue was a closed crime scene for a week.
Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer tells 7 Action News he was not aware of this but supports the decision of his detective because it can help ease the pain and anxiety of family members and they wouldn’t hurt anything.

[h=1]Search resumes in Macomb Township for remains of missing girls[/h]
With a smaller team of investigators, the search resumed Monday in Macomb Township for the remains of up to six girls missing for decades.

The investigation at the 24-acre parcel south of 23 Mile Road, west of North Avenue, was postponed for the weekend because of rain last Friday and Saturday, but started Monday morning as authorities try to solve the disappearance of multiple young females.

“We are out there this morning,” Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer, whose department is the lead agency in the task force working the case, confirmed.

With rain again in the forecast, officials excavating multiple spots were expected to continue digging as long as possible.

As of Monday morning, no human remains had been found.
Dwyer said the group working in the woods Monday totaled eight to 10 people including Warren detectives and an unspecified number of individuals whose employment or affiliations he declined to specify.

The stages of the task force’s work have not been revealed, but there are indications the investigation could take months. Dwyer said other locations will be checked over a period of months in what could become a long probe to complete.

Police have confirmed other girls who have been missing and whose remains could be buried in the Macomb Township woods include:

• Cynthia Coon, who was age 13 when she disappeared from Ann Arbor in 1970

• Nadine O’Dell, 16, whose last known whereabouts were in Inkster in 1974

• Kim Marie Larrow, 15, who disappeared in Canton in 1981

• Kellie Marie Brownlee, who was 17 and had been at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi before she went missing in 1982.

Discovering remains of any of those girls or others would bring some long-overdue, potential closure to families.
