Reverend Mark Bidwell, who is the minister at the Metropolitan Community Church in Ferndale and a former police chaplain, Detroit, called 911 at 5.30am last week to report a man at his home had stopped breathing.
He said he met the man, Steven Fitch, 43, of Lincoln Park, on a website the night before and invited him over to his house for sex.

Police said Mr Fitch brought crystal methamphetamine to Rev Bidwell's home and injected himself with the drug. He died later in hospital.
Rev Bidwell told officers that Mr Fitch also injected him with the drug as well.

Ferndale mayor, Dave Coulter, described the minister as a respected member of the gay community.
