It’s not a park. It’s a National Forest covering a huge area of western/central/northern Michigan. I grew up in the Manistee National Forest south and west of Wexford County where RP lived.

It is poor. It is rural. Healthcare and education are not a priority because a significant amount of the population is absolutely poverty stricken.

Meth. Drugs. Pedos. Lack of access to so many things.

Rebecca Park was surrounded by societal and economic despair and the people in her life who she depended on, were not products of regular normal people making reasonable choices. I doubt anyone had seen a doctor in years except for the pedos who got a jailhouse exam.

Funding for public health has been cut so drastically in the state and federally that the county health department where women could get access to prenatal care is most likely gone and a Dollar General stands there now.

Anyone have questions about rural northern MI, I’ve a lot I can get off my chest.

I usually drop service in a couple spots around Healy lake/ kaleva/ bear creek when I'm hunting. Seems to be fine for me around boon. I won't be hunting that area anymore. Screw those people.

We didn’t get cable tv until 1991.

Cell phone service for me with Verizon or ATT was mediocre in the early 2000s in eastern Mason Co/Western Lake Co.

Check this tho! WiFi became available in the area I grew up in…..drumroll…..2018!

There was a brief press conference tonight at 9pm. Lots of No Commnts answers.
There was one particular questions asked by the interviewer that stood out to me “Any arrests yet”… to which the officers replied with “it’s early on in the investigation and that they don’t believe the citizens are in danger….”
This PC was live at 9pm EST however upon researching ways to watch it (I’m in Canada and Bill C-18 and a meta have denied access to News on Meta based websites) I did find that RBs significant other was arrested and booked Nov 25 2025 at 7:33pm est.
This arrest could be on unrelated matters, but the timing seems kinda suspicious IMO…

As far as I recall from the live streams, Richard's home security cameras had shown that Rebecca was collected that evening around 6:30pm like he said, and that Richard hadn't left the house that night at all.
He is a convicted felon and may have other matters but in my opinion he wasn't involved in whatever happened to Rebecca.
