DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are asking for the public's help to find a missing 17-year-old who has been missing since midnight.

Shantel Morrow was last seen at her home in the 8000 block of Birwood. That's near Oakman and Joy on the city's west side.

Police say her mother noticed she was gone when she woke up this morning, so it is not clear when she left the house. Her mother told officers it is out of character for her daughter to leave and not communicate with her.

Shantel is 5'3" and weighs about 152 pounds. It is not clear what she was wearing. Shantel is in good physical/mental condition.

Anyone with information on her current location is asked to call the Detroit Police Department Second Precinct at 313-596-5240 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
