The decedent's skeletal remains were found by a survey crew in a field along the 17000 block of Southwest 137th Avenue. The field was full of tall weeds called beggar's tick. One of the weeds was growing directly on top of one of the leg bones. A botanist examined the beggar's tick and judged by the thickness of the stem and probable rate of growth, it was 1 to 3 years old. Authorities believe the decedent was killed elsewhere and dumped in the field.

Wow! The second one is spot on, down to the bend in the nose and the brow ridge. Call in?
They both have DNA available. I'm going to submit... It won't hurt, I guess?!

Got an email saying that my suggested match has previously been submitted to law enforcement by Doe Network.

Well that sounds encouraging. If he's already on Doe Network's radar perhaps there's been some thorough genealogy started.

The newspaper states 5'5"-5'8" while NamUs states 5'9". I'm guessing his height might be more towards the lower end because his feet are not very big (size 7 shoes- im a women who wears a mens 8.5!). Of course, sometimes people aren't proportional like that, but when you're looking for IDs I wouldn't rule out shorter people.

Someone suggested Kenneth Edward Quattlebaum. Not everything lines up and not sure if already ruled out, but he does resemble him. He is listed as White but it also states his family is from Columbia.

"On August 12 1994, Kenneth phoned his father in Virginia. At that time, Kenneth was in Lexington County and was walking to his home off Broad River Rd. His home was found locked and his vehicle was still in the driveway. He withdrew $100 from his bank account on August 12, 1994. Neither his family in Columbia or Virginia have heard from Kenneth."
