Cold case Files: Stillwell teen vanished in December of 2020 and authorities have virtually no leads

Just over four years ago on December 10, 2020, a 15-year-old boy vanished from Stillwell. On that fateful day, Michael James MacDougal left his home in the Bell Road area of Adair County and hasn't been heard from since. Law enforcement initially believed that Michael left home of his own...

Law enforcement initially believed that Michael left home of his own accord, but it is feared that something may have happened to him afterward.
Investigators have meticulously reviewed security footage from various locations in the area and identified two vehicles of interest that were present at the time of Michael's disappearance.


The vehicles in question traveled on Bell Road between 7:50 and 8:00 a.m. on December 10, 2020. One is a white Chevrolet Suburban, and the other is a black Chevrolet or GMC pick-up truck, possibly from the early 2000s model, with Nerf bars.

i believe this is where the photo of the white truck was taken.
[note: there's a white truck in their driveway, different front grill]

confirmed to me: the two photos depict the trucks going North on Bell road at this location, then at the very least, the black truck comes back. Must be why we get the time frame instead of a time.

thought: i wonder why both trucks are of interest and not just the black one. If the white one returned, they must have footage to confirm that, why not share that photo too?

The truck in the photo you posted is a pick up. The white reported truck was an suv and the black one a pick up . I do not think this truck is related to the one in question.
It would be interesting to pull regige owners and see who owned these types of trucks in the area.
A lot more information should be available and would be if this had went out as an Amber Alert. 15 yr old should not be allowed to stand by the road waiting for the sex trafficker's to scoop them up , which is exactly like this looks like , IMO.

According to it, he was at the Stilwell High School, which is ca a 11 min drive from the area where his house is. I do not post here the address to respect privacy.

Impossible IMO he was heading there on foot (ca 2h on foot). So IMO the bus was stopping on Bell Rd, and he had to walk a bit to get to the bus stop. If this was the intent that day.

Did he lose the school bus? Did he take a lift with the wrong person? Did he leave on purpose with no intention to head to school ? Did he have a phone with him?

Deputies say he was last seen walking away from Bell Road in Stilwell before 8 a.m. on Dec. 10, 2020.

If you look at Bell Rd , the main road there, what would “walk away from Bell Rd” mean?

To me it was not clear where he was last seen. But, after a bit of digging and assuming that walking away from Bell road means he was still on his road, and by comparing the last photo of his, with streetview in google maps, then possibly IMO his last sighting was towards the end of his gravel road, not far from the crossing with Bell Rd.

It is unknown to the public after that if he went towards Stilwell or towards Bell.

In the photo, it looks like he is looking towards Bell Rd. Was he waiting for someone ?

And why did he leave without a coat in winter ? Was the temperature mild that day ?

I agree with the location for both vehicles, the little stone columns confirm it, and it s 1 min walk from where , as I just posted, I believe his last photo was taken.
The white van is pictured going towards Stilwell and OK-100 W, while the black truck obviously is pictured both arriving and leaving.
Hence, IMO, the mkst important vehicle for this case, is the black one.

Pretty close IMO, good find!!
This is ca 6 mins driving downwards from where he lives, and towards Bell.
But this could mean that the vehicle was just passing by, coming from here going towards Stilwell and may have nothing to do with his disappearance. At least the driver may have seen sth or given the boy a lift.
If this is the same black truck, however I doubt LE would not have already found out given the short distance, they must have checked all these residences along the main road.

I assume Michael was waiting for the bus or walking to school? At 15 , I would think that's why he was out so early.
Maybe some predator was scoping out kids heading to school...Michael was 5'9 and 180 pounds..doesn't sound like an easy target.

Enough time has gone by that the family/LE/agencies would have put out more information. He's not wearing a backpack, so it seems he wasn't going to school? I don't know whether he typically carries one. Was he doing well in school? Was it typical for him to leave at 8 for a normal school day? Did he have friends, a girlfriend? The lack of information is kind of unusual, after all this time.
