Detectives are appealing for information from the public to locate a man who hasn’t been in touch with his family for almost 50 years.

Brian Fulljames was last seen in Darwin around 1973; however, no family or associates have seen or heard from him since the late 1970s. At that time, he was aged 34; he would now be 83.

A missing person’s report was made by family members to officers attached to Manning Great Lake PD last December.

Detectives initiated nationwide inquiries which – to date – have been unsuccessful and officers are now appealing publicly for help from the public.

I wonder what triggered them to take such an interest in this MP again. I had to laugh a little when I recently looked through Australia's MP list; there was a man who went missing quite some time ago and his age now would be 120 years old. The notice said "police have concerns for his welfare" lol. I think they needed to update the MP notice on that one.

A crime scene has been established on Darwin's Lee Point Beach where human remains, including a skull and a "large number" of bones, have been discovered by a bushwalker. Police said it appeared the remains belonged to one person, but it was too early to identify them, the cause or timing of their death, or whether it was suspicious

Just heard on ABC radio that remains believed to be human have been found outside of Darwin.
