''The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office received a federal grant of $1.15 million to start a special cold case unit to investigate unsolved murder cases.''

''Frost was found fatally stabbed in a farmer’s field in East Bethel.
In the years since, her family has passed out flyers looking for clues.
In the late 1990s, a billboard was put up asking for tips along Highway 65.
But the case has gone cold over the years.
“I’d like to see some progress on that one,” Erickson said.
Soon, the Sheriff’s Office will create a webpage with information about specific cold cases they are looking for community’s help on.''

'With some help from a federal grant, one Minnesota County is taking another crack at some long-standing cold cases.
25 cold cases are being featured on a new website launched by Anoka County, the cold cases go back to as far as 1965, and as recent as 2022. The county hope the added attention and resources will help solve these crimes.'

Along with investigating cold cases, the new unit is also "developing cold case investigation protocols and procedures." The cold case unit is reviewing all unsolved cases and prioritizing them, while also re-examining evidence to determine if it can advance the investigations.

One of the most notable cold cases featured is that of 17-year-old Barbara Sue Frost, she was found stabbed multiple times in a ditch near a sod field in East Bethel in 1985. While there were persons of interest developed in the case, no charges were ever filed.''

“There were tire impressions in the grass, leading police to believe she was dumped from a car. Frost hadn't been raped or robbed. The last time anyone heard from her was when she called somebody from a party 12 hours before the slaying. Police had no witnesses and little physical evidence, but within a week investigators had a suspect they described as an acquaintance of Frost.”

Per the article, she had a troubled life.
