Minneapolis police have put out a call to help find 36-year-old Eric Patrick McGarrity, who has been missing for a week.

• He was last seen Thurs evening (Jan 21) near the 3200 block of Oliver Avenue North.
• He is 5'9" inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.
• He has short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

I lived in the Minneapolis area for 30+ years and North Minneapolis is notorious for crime. Of course other areas are also and I’m NOT saying everyone in North Mpls is a criminal. IMO

3200 block of Oliver Avenue North is on the west side of the river/94 nd not really in N Minneapolis - it is a pretty middle class, tame suburb. He is also missing because he was charged for a crime that isn't necessarily related to a geographical area so I assume he is on the lam. Just want to avoid characterising particular areas as bad or good with broad strokes. The UofM campus is technically in N minneapolis and is fine (I lived there for some years in the late 1990s before moving to the actual bad part of town in south-central). I think what you are thinking of is the industrial corridor along 94 north of the river which used to be pretty seedy.
