wow---this is quick. He has only been missing for a few hours? I guess they have reason to feel it is serious.

IMO
FB his mom and friends have posted. They have been searching all day and night and planning to search christmas day.
Beyond sad another missing college age kid out at the bar that goes missing.
Brian's Bar is located at 219 Main St S, Stillwater, MN 55082. 2 streets from St Croix River and Stillwater Lift Bridge that separates MN and WI.

I hate hearing there was a river so nearby.

He's 20 and has been missing for less than 24 hours. Plenty of reasons to stay positive about how this will end. Doubt there would even be concern if it weren't Christmas Eve/Day.

Was anything shared about his evening at the bar? Any arguments... highly intoxicated...is there a car missing...is his phone off, etc?

It's great that his family is being proactive but let's stay positive!

Family member ED is posting frequent updates and additional information in the comments on the police Facebook page.

And the extreme cold that we've had in the upper Midwest doesn't help.
Yes, that's why I'm wondering about the no coat description...If he was intoxicated his body temperature would have dropped even more. Very concerning. Did he have a phone on him? CCTV-
footage?

Correcting myself. Phone was dead.

I live about an hour away. It has been quite cold here, below zero, and very windy. I cannot imagine what the family must be going through. Given that personal items were located near a dumpster, I was really saddened and disappointed the overnight search was called off. Cold weather is a way of life in this area, you find people out daily in this weather all the time (ice fishing, skiing, snowmobiling), have to admit rather surprised the search was called off. I agree, all the more reason to continue the search.

Another college-aged man lost extremely close to water. It's sad that boys are not taught to travel in groups when leaving bars/after dark like women are, this could be prevented almost every single time.

It strikes me as possible that he could have a coat with him but it is not noted in the description because he was described by patrons at the bar who may have only seen him after his coat was off? Lots of midwest bars have a coat rack by the door.

Searchers can meet on the river/east side of the Freight House in Stillwater and that the search will work east to west, according to a Facebook post.

“Dress warm,” said George’s cousin, ED, on Facebook. “There are only two officers working today so this is a community led search. It is very cold please use discretion when searching and we cannot go onto private property.”

The family searched downtown Stillwater Saturday.

As he's from Stillwater, even intoxicated he would be familiar with the area around the bar and with the river, and would avoid it. He may have managed to get to his car parked by the Freighthouse, which is the street behind Brian's Bar, fumbled for and dropped his keys and wallet in the snow, and frustrated and using 'drunk logic' decided to walk and headed west (toward the bar? Home?). Sounds like they think he headed that way. Moo

This is so concerning with some of his belongings being found in a snow bank and near a dumpster. It makes me wonder if he was accosted and started throwing his belongings to try and leave a trail or red flag for people that he was there and something bad happened. If it was something like self harm, I'm not sure why he would place his belongings there. MOO Of course if it was really him the cab driver saw walking later, then it sounds like he got out of the parking lot OK.

I feel awful for his family with him going missing on Christmas (awful anytime, but especially rough during the holidays). Hoping he will be found safe.
