MAY 20

Law enforcement believes Eue walked away from her residence on Golf Course Drive, where she resides with her mother.

Law enforcement suspects no foul play at this time and continues to work with family and friends in locating Eue.

“There was nothing to indicate where or when she left,” Baxter Police Chief Jim Exsted said. He added she may have left the residence due to “insurmountable personal problems.”

BAXTER — Baxter police are asking residents and members of the business community to check their surveillance cameras for any video that might assist in the investigation involving missing woman Jessie Eue.
**************************

In a Facebook post Saturday, May 21, on the Baxter Police Department page, police said they are broadening the original search area and asking for the public’s help.

“If you have a system in the areas around Golf Course Dr. in Baxter, anywhere north or south of the Hwy 210 corridor as it travels through Baxter and Brainerd; or anywhere adjacent to Hwy 371, please review the footage from the evening of May 17th, after 8:30 pm, into the morning hours of May 18th,” the post stated. “Jessie may have been wearing a black jacket but we're not certain. So, anyone walking alone and resembling her photo would be of interest to our office. Most systems start to rewrite after a week or two so it's important to check the systems as soon as possible.”

There was no further update from Crow Wing County dispatchers Sunday.

I wonder what her "insurmountable personal problems" were?

It does make her sound like she had no hope and was desperate and depressed.

Surely everything can be overcome, even things that seem insurmountable at the time.

I hope she just needed some time alone and space to think and will reach out to someone soon.

BPD's reply to a comment:
The Baxter Police Department has reached out to many businesses, and also to the homeowners in the association where Jessie lives, seeking any camera system footage from the evening of May 17th. We initially focused on those areas we felt may have been in the path of what we believed to be the most likely route she would have taken as she walked away from the residence. We are now broadening that scope and would ask anyone with a system in the area of her residence to please review the video from the evening of May 17th, after 8:30 pm, into the morning hours of May 18th, to see if there is anyone matching, or closely matching, the description given for Jessie. We are particularly interested in systems which are physically located east of Hwy 371 and anywhere within a half mile north or south of the Hwy 210 corridor as it travels through both Baxter and Brainerd. If you have access to these systems, or know someone who does, please reach out and search those systems. Generally the systems start to rewrite after a few weeks so we won't have much time. Please contact the Baxter Police Department at 218-454-5090 if you find anything of significance. Thanks for your concern - Chief Jim Exsted

This is sad news.

A body was found on Thursday during a search for a missing Baxter woman.

The search for Jessie Eue continued as the Baxter Police Department conducted a ground search in the area of where she was last seen near her home. The search started around 5 PM, and a body was found after 6 that evening. The body has not yet been positively identified as Eue, and police have yet to make an official statement.

The original goal of Thursday’s search was to walk the search perimeter again to eliminate it as a possible location.

Eue went missing from her Baxter home sometime after 8:30 PM on May 17th. Police officials have said foul play is not suspected.

This article has additional information. Sadly, it seems like a probable suicide.

Police release probable cause of death for Baxter woman found after May search

The autopsy report stated the likely cause of Eue’s death was freshwater drowning and noted Eue had a significant amount of water in her stomach. The toxicology report stated 5,700 nanograms per milliliter of diphenhydramine were present in Eue’s system, along with caffeine and a blood alcohol content of 0.032%.

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine in over-the-counter allergy medicines like Benadryl. A blood concentration of 15-112 nanograms per milliliter is considered therapeutic, according to the Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Care and Sciences.

The autopsy found no other significant injuries or trauma.
