Leroy Keith Boyd – The Charley Project

Oddly, this site lists Leroy missing since 5/01/2007

"After his disappearance, investigators found Boyd's 2005 Dodge pickup truck and trailer at a car dealership out of state. They learned Boyd hadn't driven the vehicle since October 2007. The truck had been used to haul motorcycles across the country for private individuals.

Boyd was in good health at the time of his disappearance and is described as a private person. Prior to his disappearance, he traveled extensively in the midwest and east coast of the United States.

Foul play is suspected in Boyd's disappearance. Authorities have a person of interest in his case, but it remains unsolved."

Born March 21, 1941, Leroy spent most of his life in the small town of Aitkin. After his father was killed while serving in World War II, Leroy was adopted by his mother Dorothy Woodrow's new husband, Glenn Boyd. There was quite an age gap between Leroy and his younger half-siblings: Tuffy Boyd, Mick Boyd, Nancy Burgwald, Edee Connor and Ruth Moore.

Leroy went on to serve in the Army as a military police officer. His civilian background was in excavating and construction, and he owned the Aitkin Lanes bowling alley for a while.

He was divorced with two children, Matthew Boyd and Amanda (Boyd) Hop, and several grandchildren — some of whom he never met.

"He was caring in his own way," Matthew said. "He did a lot for a lot of people. Was always there when I needed him. Sometimes, I got the tough love, but he was always there in one way or another. I looked up to him in a lot of ways, so in the end, I hope I turn out to be half as good as he was."

Sounds like perhaps some people to whom he was associated and/or related may have some information but are refusing to talk?
