The terrified middle schooler is backed against a locker by several of his classmates at Eagle Ridge Middle School in Savage — about 20 miles south of Minneapolis — on Friday, video posted on X by CrimeWatchMpls shows.

Suddenly, two much larger boys begin raining fists on the helpless student as he tries to avoid their punches while others watch on and cheer, video shows.

The brawl begins to get out of control before it cuts out.

Video footage showed the shocking moment a terrified middle schooler is backed up against a wall of lockers by a group of apparent bullies.

All of a sudden, two of the much larger boys start pummeling the boy as he ducks down to try to avoid their violent swings.

The only way to end this is charging anyone instigating these fights as an adult and anyone recording it with a crime as well. Put it on their permanent records and immediate expulsion.

It's awful, that poor child. In the old days they had juvenile detention centres and schools for ill behaved (wrong term, I know) children Afaik. Do any of these exist anymore??!!

*And this about a Michigan middle school just came out today:

Very sad. In addition I would have yanked my kid from the school, probably after attending school with my child for awhile and a lot of convos with cops, lawyers (pro bono?) and others.

Why anyone recording it? Those videos can help police establish what actually happened.

There are surveillance cameras for just this reason. We don't need kids recording crimes to share with LE. First of all, most kids don't "snitch". Second, the majority record to post online, not to fulfill some civic duty. In some cases, the motivation to even fight is to win likes on SM. We don't allow any other interpersonal crimes to be recorded. This should be no different. We've long passed the point where it's just "kids being kids".

Hoping there are no permanent injuries, but not surprised if there are some. Certainly there are already, I assume, injuries in his mind that may never go away.
Also hoping that the principal, LE, the boy's parents and teachers will stand up and help make a good case for punishment and immediate expulsion for the students who attacked this boy. Get the facts, record the injuries, and find a tuff attorney -- if indeed it needs to go to court.
All just my opinion.
