<<Nancy Kay (Helling) Tharp was just 23 years old when she disappeared from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on August 20, 1977. Raised in Wisconsin along with a brother and sister, they lived on a farm with their hardworking parents. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Dee Tharp in June of 1972. He was enlisted in the Army, and by 1975, they had settled in Minnesota and welcomed a son. But just two years later, she went to the local supermarket to buy her son a birthday cake.
